Being an artist has been a dream of mine since I was quite young. I took art classes through high school and then other classes off and on as family and work requirements allowed. As soon as I retired from Washington Water Power (now Avista), I took drawing classes at Corbin Senior Center and joined RRAFA. Immediately after that, I became totally involved with genealogy and taking photos.  I do an occasional painting and have shown my art or photos for the last three years at the community art exhibit in Lake Havasu City, Arizona during our winters there.

School teachers were always very important in my life, especially my art teachers. They encouraged me when I most needed it. Art and photography was inspired by my mother (RRAFA member, Julia Schopp, who passed away in 2008).

I have taken various art and calligraphy classes from several of the local artists.  My art is for my pleasure.  Years ago, after a watercolor class from a Whitworth instructor, I was determined to sell my work.  This is no longer a goal.  I enjoy doing and seeing art for my enjoyment and love to learn new processes.

My art includes watercolor, pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink, pastels (not currently), crafts, and photography.
