One of a new generation of artists to work in a relatively new art form: Digital.
I've previously worked with ceramics, jewelry and silk screen, as well as oils, watercolors, collage and mixed media. I've also worked in the motion picture and music industries in Los Angeleles engaged in stage lighting and set design. I went into business producing art déco reproduction mirrors, lamps and clocks but was unsuccessful at making a living involving any form of individual self-expression.
At that point I went to work full-time in the construction field and for the next 25 years, the artist in me remained dormant, yet I continued to see the world through the eyes of an artist. When I re-entered the art arena I had so much that I wanted to express and it's now all coming forth in my current work.
To me the digital medium is like a direct conduit from my imagination to the computer screen, unlike any physical medium that i've worked with, which allows me to express form, color and creative ideas far beyond any other art media that I've used before. Digital art is today what photography was 100 years ago, and for me, it's a fusion of photography, collage and painting.
