Someone once said, "All things are beautiful, only light and shade make the difference."
This simple philosophy of art guides the beliefs and brush strokes of Lorraine Krank.
Lorraine is a self-taught artist. Egg tempera, an x-acto knife, and a steady hand enable Lorraine to achieve the realism effect found in her paintings. Most work is done on gesso covered
masonite, with watercolor paintsmixed with egg yokes, continuously applied until a waxy surface is achieved.
Lorraine is a member of MONARCH Arts as well as the River Ridge Association of Fine Arts. She belongs to the Spokane Valley Arts Commission and the Spokane College of Women. Some of her works are on display on CMTV, and she is represented at Ink to Media Gallery on Pines Rd. in the Spokane Valley. Lorraine enjoys displaying her work yearly at First Night Spokane, as well as at the Spokane County Interstate Fair.
Lorraine says, "I believe that if you have talent, you should make the best of it, and offer its form of expression to society."
