Joyce Wilkens, took her first delightful watercolor class in 1992 from MaryAnne Figgins, and additional classes from Stan Miller. Later she added oil painting, wood-carving, photography and poetry writing to her list of loves. Finding beauty in expression and challenging the viewer to look and think deeper are priorities for her.
She is author/photographer of two photo table books, TEACUP ART, and her most recent award-winning book WALKING STICKS.
Joyce worked several years as an art/history docent and actor for the Museum of Arts and Culture in Spokane. Her most rewarding jobs were raising 3 now married children, and teaching the children in her church. She appreciates and thanks River Ridge Association for the opportunity to learn from and be inspired by member artists, and also gives thanks to the Creator for filling the earth with spectacular nature to fill her soul. www.joycewilkens.com
